Nomadbox was founded by Dirk, an engineer, and Lara, a product designer. A father-daughter duo with backgrounds spanning mechanical engineering and product design, and a shared interest in sustainability and innovation.
The Nomadbox started with a simple question: there must be a different way to close a box than with glue or tape. Tape has been the standard for over a century. We questioned if that is actually necessary.
The answer became the Monozip, a patented closure for cardboard, opening and closing in under 5 seconds, requiring no tools, and leaving no residue. Simple by design.
We believe innovation doesn't have to mean complexity. We also believe that corrugated cardboard, free from microplastics and adhesive residues, is genuinely suited for reuse when thoughtfully engineered.
Circular supply chains are more possible than we might think. We don't have to demonize the cardboard industry because we connect it with single use. Instead, we need to make use of what is there in a smarter way, and make use of the best of both worlds: Reuse and Recycling.
The Nomadbox is proof of that. Every reuse cycle saves fibers, water, energy and labour. A simple box with serious impact.
An independent jury recognised the Nomadbox as the most innovative sustainable packaging solution of 2025, validating that simple ideas can have serious impact.
We are cardboard fans.
